Janet Montgomery is the Preschool Director at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School. This is a brand new position for her at SHJ. Previously, she was the first grade teacher at Sacred Heart of Jesus for fourteen years. Janet is extremely happy in her new position as Preschool Director. Janet received her Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Colorado-Denver in December of 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Michigan State University. Janet has been married to her wonderful husband Jim for 34 years. They have a daughter, Anna who is working on her Master’s degree at Michigan State University in classical voice. Anna attended SHJ and Holy Family High School. Janet enjoys reading, going for walks, golfing, watching Nugget’s basketball, knitting, going out with friends and spending her summers in beautiful “Up North” Michigan.
Tom was raised in Ohio as the middle child of five siblings. He attended Kent State University were he received a BA in Political Science. While in Ohio working, he also received a Masters Degree in Business at Case Western Reserve University.
Tom moved to Colorado where he met his wife, Teresa. They have been married 33 years and have raised two daughters, Becca and Kate. Teresa is an IT and HR professional with the Colorado Community College System Offices in Denver. Kate is finishing her degree at Metro State as a Physical Therapist and alternative medicine nurse. Becca is at Loyola University outside of Baltimore, Maryland, majoring in Finance. Both of his daughters are in their final year of college.
After working in the High Tech area for a number of years, Tom went to the University of Colorado where he obtained his BA in Education in 2005. He has completed one half on his Masters Degree in Education at CU Boulder. Tom worked in the Adams 12 District teaching 5th grade and in the Boulder Valley Schools teaching 4th grade. In 2010, he switched to teaching in preschool. Tom attended classes at Front Range Community College where he completed several classes in Early Childhood Education. Tom taught preschool at First Presbyterian Church in Boulder for two years. He is currently in his second year as an Early Preschool instructor at Sacred Heart of Jesus School.
Tom is excited to be part of the SHJ School and feels blessed to have met such wonderful students, parents and fellow teachers.
Laura grew up in Laguna Beach, California where she earned her Associate's of Arts degree from Saddleback College. She then went on to earn her Bachelors of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado. She holds a Level 5 Early Childhood Teacher endorsement and is Director Qualified.
Laura and her family have been a part of SHJ for 17 years. She is blessed to be a mother of three children, all of them have attended Sacred Heart Jesus School. This will be her 11th year teach at Sacred Heart of Jesus. Teaching the little ones bring her great joy. She enjoys watching them grow in faith and Friendship, and always hopes to inspire a love of learning.
In her free time, she enjoys being outside, hiking, playing tennis or watching her daughter play soccer.
Robin Schiller is a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Sacred Heart of Jesus. Her past experiences include teaching Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten at Good Shepherd for three years, and Kindergarten for the last two years at Our Lady of Loreto. Robin is in her ninth year as an educator, and enjoys working with children to help them reach for their dreams through education and spiritual growth. She believes every child should be valued and treated with respect. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world. Robin has a BS in Business Management, and is very close to finishing her MAED – Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. Robin is looking forward to getting to know all of you this school year!
This is Brooke's second year teaching at SHJ. Brooke is currently studying Psychology and has plans to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. Brooke grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with her parents and four sisters. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys running, biking and hiking.
Kimberly Stensler has a B.A. in Psychology, with classes in child development/child psychology, from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She enjoys working in the preschool classes and the aftercare program at Sacred Heart of Jesus. Her favorite part of working with the children is completing art projects. She has a black cat named Salem. Miss Kim loves to travel to beaches and go to Broadway shows. This is Miss Kim's tenth year at SHJ.
