Sacred Heart of Jesus Elementary School is known for its award-winning academics. Most students test at least one grade level higher than the norm on standardized tests. We offer an excellent core curriculum based on national standards. Small class sizes with low student/teacher ratios afford plenty of individual attention.
High-tech learning resources include a new media center, weekly science labs, Promethean Boards in every classroom and extensive use of Chrome Books.
Our teachers utilize the McGraw-Hill Wonders Reading Program for classroom instruction in Kindergarten through 5th grade and the Lexia Computer Program for personalized learning and reading skills development.
Math and Science: Math students are grouped according to their skill level. The elementary program encompasses the Singapore Math Curriculum and in-depth supplemental instruction. The Lab Learner curriculum is used in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
We believe that a quality education is a combined effort of the home, the school and the Church. By the time children leave SHJ Elementary School they are fluent readers, creative writers, analytic thinkers, mathematicians, confident communicators and spiritual beings with strong moral character.
