A lifelong educator in the state of Michigan, Mr. Mecsey served nine years as Head of School at Kingsbury Country Day School.
Prior to that, he was a teacher and administrator at Cranbrook Schools for 22 years. Mr. Mecsey and his wife moved to Colorado to be closer to their children and grandchildren who live in the Denver area.
Mr. Mecsey has both a Bachelor and Master of Science degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and has completed graduate courses toward a Master of Arts in Teaching. An experienced administrator and educator in the private school arena, his formal studies have included school culture, leadership styles, teacher evaluation, school law, communication and technology, school improvement, athletic administration and educating special student populations. Over the course of his more that 30-year career, he has served as school leader, teacher, advisor, catechist, coach, and athletic administrator, with a successful history at every level of elementary, middle and high school education.
